TO STOP THE GUN  VIOLENCE IN THIS CITY
We must stiffen gun crime laws and penalties!  Most of the time criminals are given a soft sentence and put back on the street where they commit more crimes.Serious gun crime offenders must be put in jail so they don’t skip town to avoid a hearing. One example is the murder of Police officer Skerski. His murderer committed a gun crime when he shot someone. The Judge in Phila. acquitted him. He then moved to Oakland California where he committed a crime with a gun and was told by the Judge to come back for a hearing. He then skipped town, came home to Philadelphia where he committed more crimes including shooting officer Skerski in the face with a sawed off shotgun and killing him. We must expose weak Judges and we must not support these Judges on Election Day.
We have laws here that are not enforced. We must educate children from first grade until twelfth grade on Gun violence, the dangers of having a gun, drugs, pre marital sex, self-control, peer pressure, pride in your neighborhood and how to respect your neighbors and classmates. We need to change the violent culture that is destroying America's youth.

We must have more police on the streets!

I want music back in our schools!!!!!!
I will fight hard to improve our public schools. I will start by securing   the safety of our children in and out of school.  I will work hard to  increase employment opportunities and lower taxes. I will fight for more funding for recreation and learning centers.

I will fight hard for more police on our streets  and secure jobs for our Fire and Police Departments.I will fight hard to fix our broken criminal system.I will expose and put pressure on weak Judges.I will help lead a government free of corruption and cronyism.* LOWER BUSINESS PRIV. AND CITY WAGE TAX
* LOWER GROSS AND NET PROFIT TAX.* CLEANER, SAFER STREETS AND PARKS

                      My statement from 2007
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SCHOOL DISTRICT -    MISMANAGEMENT AND MISUSE OF MONEY.
We must have an independent group that looks into the mismanagement and misuse of money and should have authority to stop high salaries and pay raises within the school board.
A just-released city audit uncovered several mistakes in the district’s accounting practices, including expense and asset reporting errors.  Butkovitz said his office also found the district paid salaries and benefits for employees who had been terminated for six months to a year as well as an $8 million dollar discrepancy that made it into the budget two years in a row.
The people should elect the school board.
Cost of their new headquarters – 107 million
Cost of FellS High in 2004 - 34 million, now it is up to 75 million
Cost land at JFK to build school – 4 million. Cost more then prime real estate on Delaware River per acre. The school district and the councilperson were not honest about the testing of the ground. There are 3 phases of an environmental test. We never saw the results. The neighbors know about the possible dumping from jfk hospital and the battery cemetery next door. Just a month ago in New Jersey, they discovered they built a day care center above an old thermometer factory with high levels of mercury. Would we let our kids attend this school, play football and baseball on toxic ground?  I will introduce a bill that would require any new school and day-care center to obtain an environmental assessment before it is approved for occupancy.

They are building all these new schools all over the city....why not build them with more classrooms that would be smaller and hold fewer students.  A teacher with 20 students in a classroom could give much more attention to each student.  Also, reward teachers who's students show great improvement.  You can't just give bonuses to the teachers with the highest test scores because that would make teachers not want to teach the low achieving students, but maybe compensate the teachers who's students make the most improvement during the school year.

                                 TAXES

We must lower taxes. Lowering the city wage tax, net profit tax, business privilege tax, gross receipts tax and real estate transfer tax and sales tax that will bring more businesses and merchants back to the city.

Lowering crime and improving public education will help in bringing small and large business back to phila.
